A 2-1 fastball was quickly deposited into the right-field bullpen, a drive that didn’t seem like it would be gone off the bat. TCU transfer Caleb Sloan made his Oregon appearance in the fourth inning and was rudely welcomed to Pac-12 baseball. Walker went just three innings, allowing the two runs, four hits, and striking out two. Once Walker found a rhythm, he was able to string together some quality innings. Right-handed pitcher Brett Walker started the game for Oregon but struggled to find his command early on. The pitching staff turned in another excellent performance for Oregon despite the four earned runs, Oregon allowed just seven hits and struck out 10. With the Ducks’ power and contact ability, offensive production should not be detrimental to the team. Oregon’s offensive woes may not last long, as the team put up a six-spot in the third inning of Friday’s contest. Oregon’s Aaron Zavala, get this, led the game off with another single before ultimately scoring on a Tanner Smith sacrifice fly. A sac fly scored the second run, and Oregon was quickly down 2-0. Seattle manufactured two runs in the first inning, a walk and stolen base by leadoff hitter Gavin Rork, followed by an RBI double that turned in an early 1-0 Seattle lead. Oregon started with some promise, scoring runs in the first and second inning, seemingly matching Seattle’s firepower, blow to blow. In game three of the four-game series between Oregon and Seattle, Oregon struck early but didn’t hit often enough as Seattle’s pitching led them to a 4-2 win.
